Date and Pine Nut Meatballs

Date and Pine Nut Meatballs

Makes 20-25 mini meatballs
Preheat oven 425 degrees
I’ve made this many times at parties and they always get munched up! No leftovers. Putting the sauce on the platter first makes the presentation better too.

Ingredients
  

Sauce

  • 1 cup full fat Greek yoghurt
  • 1 tsp. turmeric
  • 2 tbsp fresh dill
  • Flake salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp mint leaves
  • Mix well and set aside.

Meatballs

  • 1 pd. ground Kobe beef
  • ½ small onion, minced
  • 6 dates, pitted and chopped superfine
  • ½ cup pine nuts, coarsely chopped
  • 2 medium eggs
  • ½ cup panko crumbs
  • 1 tsp. ground cardamom
  • ½ tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp. turmeric
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ¼ tsp chili flakes
  • 1 tsp flake salt

Mix and roll into mini meatballs.Bake for 15-20 minutes at 425 degrees. Spread the sauce on a platter, woodboard or whatever vessel you like. Place the meatballs on the sauce and stabwith a bamboo toothpick.
